5 startups to showcase their innovations in oil & gas at NOGTECH Demo Day
On Thursday, December 10, 2020, five startups who won $10,000 each from the NOGTECH Hackathon will be showcasing their innovative solutions to attendees at Demo Day.
NOGTECH Hackathon opened up in July when the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) called on startups capable of solving crucial challenges facing the Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry to apply for its $50,000 grant.
At the crowning of the hackathon in September 2020, five startups emerged winners from 15 finalists. They include AirSynQ, Homefort Energy, Gricd Mote, Kiakia Gas and Fuel Intellisense.

While AirsynQ focuses on tackling pipeline vandalism; HomeFort makes cooking gas available to low-income households on a pay-as-you-go model; Gricd improves realtime storage conditions of temperature-sensitive medications both stationary and transient; KiaKia Gas 360 updates users on the safety status of cylinders, and Fuel Intellisense automates vehicle identification and fuel management systems.
By October 2020, the winning team proceeded on a three-month Incubation Programme in Yenagoa.
During the Demo Day, the teams will display their innovations and practical applications of all they’ve learnt during the incubation period before stakeholders, seasoned panellists, investors, NCDMB executives and enthusiasts Nigerian technology and Oil & Gas landscape.
